A Personal Welcome from Betsy

Ruby Stove Cottage has always been a beloved part of my husband John's childhood and of our love story. As a local, John was always passionate about introducing visitors to the astounding beauty and history of the North Antrim Coast. Even as I now call the United States my home, living near our grown children, my heart remains deeply rooted in Northern Ireland. Every time I return to this special place, it fills me with joy to continue the legacy of hospitality, welcoming travelers like yourself to experience its magic.

FAQ's

A few things you might be wondering about.

Who is Ruby Stove Cottage best suited for?

Couples or solo travelers seeking a quiet retreat. The cottage sleeps two in a super king bed with a 3-night minimum stay. We're non-smoking and unable to accommodate pets or wheelchairs

How far in advance can I book?

Up to 15 months ahead.

Traveling with a larger group?

The cottage is for two only, but we can suggest adjacent properties if you're traveling with others.

Is a car necessary?

Recommended but not essential. Local buses serve the main attractions, and the Causeway tram stop is a mile away.

What's the weather like?

The North Antrim coast has a mild maritime climate—rarely very hot or very cold, but often changeable. Summers (June–August) are the warmest and driest, with long daylight hours perfect for exploring. Spring and autumn offer quieter trails and dramatic skies. Winter is cooler and darker, but cozy for a retreat by the wood stove. Pack layers and a waterproof jacket any time of year—this is Ireland, after all.

No key handover required—you'll receive a unique door code after final payment. Arrive whenever suits you.

Is there parking?

Yes—a lighted off-street space at the front. We can't accommodate caravans, trailers, or boats.

What about voltage for electronics?

UK standard: 220V with 3-pin plugs. Check your devices and bring adapters. A hairdryer is provided.

How does payment work?

A 10% non-refundable deposit secures your booking. The balance is due in three installments at 12, 8, and 4 weeks before arrival. We accept GBP, EUR, or USD via card or PayPal.

What's your cancellation policy?

Full refund (minus deposit) with 4+ weeks notice. Partial refunds with vouchers for shorter notice—see our full policy for details.
